In 2022, Shaun Ridley launched his own social enterprise, Inclusion - a club night designed for adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults to enjoy a ‘normal’ night out in a welcoming and inclusive space.
Shaun, a professional DJ, first took up DJing as a hobby to support his mental health. What started as a personal passion has grown into a thriving event that provides a safe and vibrant nightlife experience. He now runs Inclusion every two months at Mrs M’s in Bishop Auckland Marketplace, bringing people together through music and community.
Little Fire Arts is a non-profit social enterprise founded in 2022 by Aiden Dawson. Its mission is to support the environment by using recycled wood and to provide creative opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults through pyrography workshops.
Aiden has continued to run workshops every two months at our MADEBy workshop in Bishop Auckland, offering a unique space for people to develop new skills, express creativity, and connect with others.
Meet Oliver, who launched his own dog-walking social enterprise in July 2023. As an autistic entrepreneur, he finds that working with animals boosts his confidence and enhances his overall well-being.
Since starting his business, Oliver has been steadily growing, welcoming new clients regularly. He currently offers dog-walking services across Bishop Auckland, Middridge, and Newton Aycliffe, providing reliable and compassionate care for pets while pursuing his passion.
