Creative Placements

Our Creative Placements project supports adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults in creative employment opportunities.

Creative Placements offer a pre-employment work experience placement, supporting people to run and work in our event management and design social enterprise, designing and building art installations and large-scale decoration projects for promotional events, festivals and corporate events.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work at music festivals and other large-scale events, such as Glastonbury and BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend
  • Help organise Bridge Creative events like our monthly Street Food Market and Christmas Town.
  • Gain real work experience in an operating social enterprise, in a safe and supported work environment.
  • Learn new skills, build confidence and reach your potential.
  • Complete a Supported Internship or Traineeship.

You can be referred into Creative Placements by your social worker if you have a social care package that includes day services. We also offer shorter Placements for people who are looking to self-fund.

Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival

The LOVE installation was a unique project for Belladrum Festival in the Scottish Highlands, designed to create a bold visual statement, fitting with the festival's theme of LOVE. Crafted from upcycled wood and over 1,000 used tennis balls, the letters illuminated beautifully when lit up, adding a striking effect.

Street Cosmos: Big Bang Family Fiesta

The Creative Placements team designed and built a giant spaceship installation for one of Baccanalia’s events at The TCR Hub in Barnard Castle. One of our most ambitious projects to date, the spaceship was constructed on a lake, creating a dramatic and immersive visual experience.

Carboniferous Monsters

For the Bishop Auckland Family Festival in August 2024, the team brought prehistoric creatures to life through a series of stunning puppets. Inspired by ancient mini-beasts, these handcrafted installations captured the imagination of festivalgoers.

Interactive elements allowed families and children to take part in the excitement of unearthing ancient fossils and getting up close to these magnificent creatures.
