Ongoing support for adults with a learning disability and autistic adults across County Durham. Supporting people to improve mental health, emotional wellbeing, social interaction, confidence and relationships by providing regular contact, group chats, online video calls and face-to-face support.
Aimed at giving young adults with learning disabilities and autistic people valuable experience in working at events/festivals, as well as taking on creative projects in our workshop to enhance their creativity skills. Examples of projects include designing and making props and signage for events out of upcycled/reclaimed wooden pallets and other materials.
Our Volunteer Project includes several Incubator programmes based around County Durham including the Friday Lunch Club at The COSE in Bishop Auckland. Volunteers participating in these programmes have the opportunity to gain new skills, meet new people and improve on their wellbeing. We run several Employment Workshops across County Durham including Barnard Castle, Chester-le-Street and Spennymoor. These courses are supported by Triage Tees Valley and DurhamEnable and aim to give people the opportunity to learn interview skills, build confidence, write a CV and develop IT skills. Every session includes fun, engaging activities with a small group of people.
